Former Graduate Researchers
Paul Plassmeyer received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Colorado State University, after which he worked in industry for a few years where he became interested in solid-state chemistry. Paul is also an astronomy enthusiast and loves playing/learning the piano. Paul graduated from the Page Group with his Ph.D. in Chemistry in November of 2016.
Devin McBain hails from Chico in northern California, where she was Outstanding Chemistry Graduate at California State University, Chico in 2013. She was also a three-time Floyd English Natural Sciences Scholarship recipient, a NIST Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow, and a Chico State Chemistry Summer Research Intern funded by British Petroleum. After graduating with honors, she stayed at Chico State for 1.5 years as a chemistry lab instructor and fell in love with teaching chemistry. Devin is passionate about science, but she has also trained in and taught many styles of dance, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and Middle Eastern dance. In her free time, she enjoys ballroom dancing, traveling the west coast, listening to music, and spending time with her husband and two cats. Devin graduated from the Page Group with her M.S. in Chemistry in 2016, and returned to Chico State as a laboratory instructor.
