Woods_Keenan_042116_007 - FOR LINKEDINKeenan Woods completed his B.S. in chemistry (with a minor in English) at California Lutheran University, joining the Page lab in 2013. He received his M.S. in chemistry from the University of Oregon in 2015 and was also awarded an NSF GRFP Honorable Mention. Currently, his research focuses on developing aqueous solution routes to metal oxide thin-film dielectrics, such as lanthanum zirconium oxide, indium gallium oxide and alumina. As an Informal Science Education (ISE) fellow, Keenan also coordinates CSMC educational outreach efforts and works closely with the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI, in Portland) to bring his research to the public. His most recent hands-on outreach demo, entitled “Sweet Films,” demonstrates the synthesis of solution-deposited thin films through the use of sugar films. Outside of the lab, Keenan enjoys reading, playing the piano, dungeon and dragons, and video games.

Current Undergraduate Researchers

emma-waddington Emma Waddington is a chemistry major at the University of Oregon after recently transferring from Reed College, and she hopes to continue on at the UO for her graduate studies. She has worked on the education side of chemistry, doing outreach in Portland elementary schools and teaching engineering to kids in an extracurricular program, and also discovered great enthusiasm for research since joining the Page lab in the Summer of 2016. Outside of work, Emma spends her time exploring the science of everyday life through camping, gardening, cooking, and art.
